Flemings

We decided to try Tomahawk Tuesday at Flemings last night. We started with a blueberry lemon drop which had no lemon flavor at all. Would not recommend. Then our server brought out a loaf of bread with what we thought was butter, but had a cheesy flavor to it. It was delicious. Our tomahawk steak came with two salads, two sides, and two desserts. We went for a wedge salad and a Flemings salad. The wedge salad came with a wedge of lettuce, somewhat crumbled bacon, blue cheese, two cherry tomatoes cut in half (for 4 tomato halves), red onions, blue cheese dressing and a balsamic glaze. The dressing was a little sweeter than I expected, but over all a good flavor. The Flemings salad had a bed of mixed greens, walnuts, tomato, dried cranberries, red onion, and a lemon balsamic vinaigrette. The vinaigrette gave the salad a light burst of flavor. I liked it. Our steak came out sliced and perfectly cooked. Our sides were chose were North Atlantic lobster mashed potatoes and Flemings potatoes. The lobster mashed potatoes were a creamy mashed potato with a creamy lobster sauce with small chunks of lobster and they were so delicious as were the Flemings potatoes. The flemings potatoes had thinly sliced onions and cheese baked to perfection. Our meal finished up with a crème brûlée and a molten chocolate lava cake. The crème brûlée had a light texture and flavor, the crisp sugar topping was so light and gave just enough sweetness. It was topped with a sliced strawberry and a few blueberries. It was divine. The chocolate lava cake came with a sliced strawberry as well and was served two small scoops of vanilla ice cream on top of three cookie type crisps. The center of the cake was a hot, thick, rich chocolate and the flavors combined were delicious. Now the service from our server was lacking and I’d like to say maybe she was just having an off day. But when she rolled her eyes after walking away from our table (for no apparent reason) maybe she was just having attitude issues. I’m a pretty easy going person so I didn’t say anything to her and I still left a very decent tip, but if we happen to revisit this location I would definitely request to not be seated in her section.
